Steamix 203 Steam & Water Mixing Valve
Will not pass live steam!
It's the safest steam and water mixing valve you can buy.
The STEAMIX 203 Mixing Valve, featured on all Lynnwood Steam and Water hose stations WILL NOT PASS LIVE STEAM in the event of either a significant pressure reduction or complete failure of the cold water supply.
STEAMIX 203 is designed to improve efficiency and reduce risk when mixing STEAM and WATER for hosing down or vessel filling. When your process demands high wash-down temperatures, adjusting the mix of Steam and Water becomes much more difficult and dangerous. It's only too easy to introduce too much steam-with risky consequences for your personnel. Not with Steamix 203!
Three steps to maximum SAFETY and effectiveness:
- STEAMIX has a single control lever for ease of temperature selection. With three full turns from cold to full hot, STEAMIX can deliver an infinite range of outlet temperatures OR can be "locked" at a predetermined single setting which the user cannot override. No proportioning or juggling of inlet supplies necessary to find temperature.
- It is mechanically impossible for STEAMIX 203 to operate without cold water pressure upon its main operating diaphragm. Because the operating diaphragm dictates if and how much the steam poppet will open the valve is intrinsically safe. THE UNIT IS INOPERABLE WITHOUT A COLDWATER SUPPLY!
- Because every moving part of STEAMIX 203 is exercised during operation, high mineral content water supplies become more manageable. Keep using the valve and the internal components will remain functional.
Why settle? We'll give you a custom fit!
Lynnwood Hose Stations which feature STEAMIX are available in seven standard configurations or you can customize to meet your specific requirements.
Customize your installation with options like: nozzle hooks for convenient storage; custom hose lengths in a variety of colors; wall or pedestal mounting; stainless steel "clean look" enclosures; and heated, insulated cabinets for all weather installation. Just give us a call at (608) 635-7800.
Steamix® Steam and Water Hose Stations – Standard
Steamix is designed to improve efficiency and reduce risk when mixing steam and water for washdown. When your process demands high washdown temperatures, adjusting the mix of steam and water becomes much more difficult and dangerous. With the older style dual-globe valve mixing “Y,” it is too easy to introduce too much steam—with risky consequences for your personnel. Here’s why it’s no problem with Steamix.
The Steamix Steam and Water Hose Stations – Standard series is supplied fully assembled and pressure tested in the following configurations. Go to the menu bar above for specific detail on each model:
Steamix Model 2030 is a steam/water mixing valve of brass/stainless steel construction. View the PDF Brochure
Steamix Model 2031 is a steam/water mixing valve of brass/stainless steel construction. The valve is supplied as standard with 3/4" inlet union connections with integral strainers, an outlet ball valve for flow control and an outlet dial thermometer. The unit is supplied fully assembled, pressure-tested. Viw the PDF Brochure
Steamix Model 2032 is a steam/water mixing valve of brass/stainless steel construction. The valve is supplied as standard with 3/4" inlet union connections with integral strainers, an outlet ball valve for flow control and an outlet dial thermometer. The unit is supplied fully assembled, pressure-tested and installed on a stainless steel hose rack. View the PDF Brochure
Steamix Model 2033 also includes a stainless steel dual-scale outlet thermometer, 25 feet of “safety yellow” washdown hose rated for 400 psi (28 bar) and 400?F (88?C), rubber cushioned spray nozzle with, swivel adapter, a stainless steel nozzle hook. View the PDF Brochure

Safety
- In the event of either a complete failure of the inlet cold-water supply or a reduction in cold-water pressure to below 20 (+/-5) psi (1.4 bar), STEAMIX will respond with a complete shutdown of outlet flow.
- If there is a structural failure of the primary operating component (diaphragm), STEAMIX will “fail safe” to cold water.
- To prevent over-temperature selection by the user and the potential for overheated water and flash steam presentation common with other types of hose stations, STEAMIX can be supplied with either a single-temperature lockout or a maximum temperature-limiting option.

Hot & Cold Water Hose Stations – Standard
Armstrong hot and cold water hose stations replace the basic Mixing Y with a Rada® 320 thermostatic mixing valve as the primary water temperature controller. With the Rada 320 you can:
- Change outlet water temperature from full cold to the field-adjustable maximum limit stop in a single handle turn
- Set and lock to a single temperature and maintain outlet temperatures +/-2?F (1?C) in the event of inlet pressure and/or temperature fluctuation or change
- Protect the operator a thermal-shutdown feature if the cold water inlet supply fails
IMPORTANT NOTE: Thermostatic products used by our competitors for this application cannot provide a temperature range from full cold to the field-adjustable maximum limit stop. Nor can they access temperatures within 5°F (2°C) of either inlet supply temperature.
Various hose lengths, spray nozzles and hose reels are available as options for Armstrong hot and cold water hose stations.
